With parts, fluids and hazardous materials removed, we are essentially left with the ‘shell’ of the car. This is crushed and passed on to a steel recycling company where it is melted down and reused in a vast range of products. At the end of our car recycling process, very little is left to go into landfill. More than 75% of a vehicle can be recycled in some way or another, which is why cars remain one of the most-recycled consumer products.
